The Society of Augustus ("the Society") is committed to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and safe online environment for all members. This Code of Conduct outlines the expected behaviors and responsibilities of members to ensure positive and constructive interactions within our digital platforms.
This Code applies to all online interactions facilitated by the Society, including but not limited to:
Forums
Chat rooms
Social media groups
Virtual meetings
Emails
Collaborative documents
It encompasses all members, volunteers, staff, contractors, and any individuals representing or acting on behalf of the Society.
To maintain a thriving online community, members are expected to uphold the following principles:
Inclusivity: Embrace diversity and ensure all voices are heard and valued.
Respect: Interact with others in a courteous and considerate manner.
Integrity: Engage honestly and transparently in all communications.
Collaboration: Work together to achieve common goals, sharing knowledge and resources.
Accountability: Take responsibility for one's actions and their impact on the community.
Members should:
Use Welcoming and Inclusive Language: Communicate in a friendly and open manner, avoiding language that could be perceived as exclusionary or offensive.
Be Respectful of Differing Opinions: Value diverse perspectives and engage in healthy debates without resorting to personal attacks.
Demonstrate Empathy: Be considerate of how others may perceive your words and actions, striving to understand their viewpoints.
Provide Constructive Feedback: Offer feedback that is helpful and aimed at improvement, avoiding derogatory or demeaning comments.
Respect Privacy: Protect the confidentiality of personal information shared within the community and refrain from sharing others' details without consent.
Adhere to Platform Guidelines: Follow the specific rules and terms of service of any platform used for Society activities.
The following actions are considered violations of this Code:
Harassment: Unwelcome conduct, including offensive comments, threats, or unwarranted attention.
Discrimination: Any form of biased treatment based on race, sex, age, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
Disruptive Conduct: Intentional actions that interfere with the normal flow of discussion or cause discomfort to others.
Sharing Inappropriate Content: Posting or linking to content that is offensive, obscene, or unrelated to the Society's objectives.
Unauthorized Recording or Sharing: Recording or distributing conversations or content without permission.
Doxing: Publishing others’ private information, such as physical or electronic addresses, without explicit permission.
Intimidation or Stalking: Deliberate actions intended to cause fear or discomfort to another member.
Sustained Disruption: Repeated interruptions or disturbances in online discussions or virtual meetings.
If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it promptly to the designated Community Moderator at info@monarchistaction.com . All reports will be handled confidentially.
When reporting, please include:
Your contact information.
Names of individuals involved.
A description of the incident, including dates, times, and context.
Any supporting evidence (e.g., screenshots, chat logs).
Upon receiving a report of a potential violation, the Society will:
Investigate Promptly: Review the report and gather relevant information.
Take Appropriate Action: This may include issuing warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent removal from the community, depending on the severity of the violation.
Communicate Outcomes: Inform the reporting party of the resolution, while maintaining the confidentiality of all involved parties.
Fellows subject to disciplinary action may appeal the decision by contacting the Community Moderator within 14 days of the notification. The appeal will be reviewed by an impartial panel, and a final decision will be communicated in a timely manner.
The Society reserves the right to modify this Code of Conduct as necessary. Members will be notified of significant changes through official communication channels.
