Are there any actual arguments for monarchism?

Indeed there are. In fact, there are too many to count, and far too many to do justice to them all in a short summary here. Instead, we shall refer you to a great resource on history especially as it relates to monarchism; the blog of the Mad Monarchist. The Mad Monarchist - Though having been retired from blogging for several years now, the Mad Monarchist is still an incredible source of monarchist articles and arguments for monarchism. His blog is what inspired a whole generation of young, fresh monarchists like us through the wide reaching powers of the internet, and in a way, he is the father of modern day monarchist activism, most of which is done through social media and the internet.

Where are you based?

The Society of Augustus operates globally, however, we are a federally registered not-for-profit organisation under Canadian law.

Isn't Canada already a monarchy? How does that impact what you advocate there? What you advocate elsewhere?

Although our organization began with the implicit focus on bringing monarchy to America, we are not so focused on that goal that we fail to see the forest for the trees. We are just as committed to maintaining the current monarchy in His Majesty's Dominion of Canada, and on spreading monarchism worldwide.

As such, in practice, we focus more on advocating for monarchy as a whole rather than one specific to a certain nation, and we intend to convert society back to the monarchist mindset on an individual level.

How do you plan to accomplish your goals? Wouldn't the current mindset on monarchy be difficult to overcome?

We are under no illusions as to how difficult it would be to change the world's opinion of monarchy back to its positive historical consensus. The republican worldview did not become the default overnight, and it will not be changed overnight either.

As such, we plan to start small, by showing the world that monarchism still exists, that it is relevant, and that it is a force for good.

We started by putting up monarchist posters in public places that direct people to our website and monarchist arguments in general, as well as attending public events to advertise and promote monarchism.

Perhaps most importantly though, we plan to improve the image of monarchism and monarchists by banding together in our local communities (in uniform as the Order of Augustus) to perform charitable acts with wide appeal, much like the Salvation Army or Society of St. Vincent de Paul, who give their religion an outstanding reputation through their charity work.

In our case, such work would consist of picking up litter by roadsides, filling in potholes on roads (properly), volunteering to help with existing relief efforts when disasters strike, and eventually perhaps performing construction projects of our own such as the creation and preservation of historical heritage sites, (eg. a very ambitious dream of building a network of replica WWI trenches to educate the public about monarchy through educating them about the Great War and their own heritage/ancestors.).
